Adoption and Amendment of Policies

The superintendent/designee shall have the responsibility of maintaining the board's policy reference files, drafting policy proposals as instructed by the board or introduced by employees or residents of the district, and maintaining the Board Policy Manual.
Proposals for new policies or changes in existing policies may be initiated by any board member, employee of the board, student or resident of the school district.
Proposals shall be submitted to the superintendent/designee in writing and shall include a brief statement of what change is proposed and why the change is deemed necessary. After the policy is drafted, it will be submitted to the superintendent/designee to be included in the official board agenda for consideration.
When deemed necessary, procedures may accompany policies for consideration.
