Committees - 1130
Committees of the board may be created by a majority of the board. No more than two (2) board members, approved by a majority vote of the board at a regular meeting, may sit on any board committee. The purpose, terms, and duration of each committee shall be determined by a majority vote of the board.
Board involvement in the community is important. Board liaisons can serve as ambassadors of the board to the community and can report useful information back to the board as a whole on issues in the community. The board may vote to appoint no more than two (2) board members to serve as liaisons to school district management committees and city and community committees. The role of the board liaison(s) shall be limited to observation, information gathering, and reporting of official positions of the board. At no time shall a board liaison(s) be a voting member of a committee.
