Board Members
The Federal Way School Board Members are your official elected local representatives in matters of public education. Each board member resides in a specific director district. They are elected to four year terms by voters of the entire school district. The board establishes the district goals, policies and budget. The superintendent and school staff translate these policies and goals into action which results in quality education for students in the Federal Way Public Schools.

Regular Board Meeting and Work/Study Resources
Regular board meetings are broadcast live on cable channel 21 within the city limits of Federal Way on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, beginning at 7 p.m. They also can be viewed live online during the meeting at mms://media.cityoffederalway.com/Live. Missed the live broadcast? It will be re-broadcast Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 9 a.m. and Monday at 7 a.m., during the week immediately following the board meeting.

Official Notices
- March 19, 2010 - CHANGE: The Board of Education will hold a special meeting for the selection of a new Superintendent. A decision may be made regarding the finalists for the Superintendent position.
- March 11, 2010 - The Board of Education will hold two special meetings for the selection of a new Superintendent.
- February 26, 2010 - The Board of Education will hold three Meet the Superintendent Finalists Night events March 24, 25, and 26, 2010 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m in the Board Room at the Educational Service Center at 31405 18th Avenue South, Federal Way, WA 98003.
- February 25, 2010 - The Board of Education has added a topic to the March 16th Work/Study agenda. The topic will be: Policy 2410: Civics Test Requirement.
- February 12, 2010 - The Board of Education will hold several work/study meetings in the next several weeks.
- January 26, 2010 - The Board of Education will hold a work/study meeting on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, and Wednesday, February 17, 2010, 6:00 p.m. at the Educational Service Center.
- January 14, 2010 - The Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. The purpose is to meet with the firm of McPherson and Jacobson to review information regarding the Superintendent Search. No decision will be made.
- December 16, 2009 - *Change* - On December 17th, prior to the meeting, the Board will meet in Executive Session to view Real Estate properties beginning at 10:00 a.m.
- December 14, 2009 - The Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday, December 17, 2009, 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. to meet with the firm of McPherson and Jacobson to create a calendar for the search of a new Superintendent. A decision may be made.
- November 30, 2009 - The Board of Education has scheduled additional work/study meetings for the 2009-2010 school year.
- November 13, 2009 - The Board of Education has made a change in the scheduled work/study meeting on November 17, 2009. This meeting will be held at Truman High School beginning at 6:00 p.m.
- November 12, 2009 - The Board of Education will hold a special meeting on November 16, 2009. The purpose of this meeting is to review the Request for Proposals from companies pertaining to the superintendent search. A decision may be made.
- October 29, 2009 - The Board of Education will hold a special meeting on November 2, 2009. The topic for this meeting is Personnel.
- October 19, 2009 - The Board of Education will hold special meetings for conducting Community Listening Sessions pertaining to the search for a new Superintendent.
- September 23, 2009 - The Board of Education has made a change in the work/study topics for the September 29, 2009 and October 6, 2009 meetings.
- August 27, 2009 - The Board of Education has scheduled meetings for conducting work/studies on the first and third Tuesdays of each month during the 2009-2010 school year.
- August 12, 2009 - The Board of Education has scheduled regular meetings for the 2009/2010 school year.
