How much is the monthly tuition?
Tuition is $1,900 for the 2012-2013 school year.  This can be paid in one lump sum or paid out over ten months @$190/month.  There is a non-refundable $25 registration fee.  Payment is due by the fifth of each month, September – June.  

Does the district provide transportation for my child?
No. Parents must provide transportation to and from the elementary school.

How do I register for preschool?
Please call the school you wish your child to attend and register with the office. You will need to show original proof of birth such as a birth certificate or passport.   You will also need to fill out an Immunization form, along with an emergency contact form.

If my child turns three during the school year, can they attend preschool?
New three year olds can be enrolled on a trial basis.  If the classroom is a good fit, they are welcome to stay!

Is there a waiting list for preschool?
 Yes, registration is on a first come, first served basis.  The first people to pay their deposit get a preschool slot.

Federal Way Public Schools offers high quality and affordable preschool programs for children ages 3 and 4. There are both tuition programs and free programs for income-eligible children.

Early Childhood Preschool Tuition Program

The district's tuition-based programs include students with special needs and normally developing students. The preschool classes are taught by Washington state certified teachers and each classroom has at least one para educator assistant.

Preschool is Monday through Thursday. Each session is 2 hours and 45 minutes, either in the morning or afternoon. For the 2012-2013 school year, the first day of preschool will be on Wednesday, September 5th. The last day will be on Thursday, June 14th. We follow the Federal Way Public Schools calendar for holidays and breaks.

Tuition is $190 a month. Families self transport their child to and from the elementary school. When families register at the school they need to show original proof of birth (such as a birth certificate or passport) for the preschooler. The family will also fill our an Immunization form along with an emergency contact form.

The Early Childhood Preschool Programs are located at the following elementary schools:

 • Enterprise (253) 945-2600 (One A.M. session and one P.M. session)
 • Meredith Hill (253) 945-3200 (Two A.M. sessions and two P.M. sessions)
 • Rainier View (253) 945-3700 (One A.M. session and one P.M. session)
 • Twin Lakes (253) 945-4200 (Two A.M. sessions and two P.M. sessions)
 • Wildwood (253) 945-4400 (Two A.M. sessions and two P.M. sessions)

A Deaf and Hard of Hearing Preschool Program is offered at Lakeland Elementary (AM session). Please call (253) 945-3000 for more information.

Head Start/ECEAP
