- 2. Compare the impact of psychological, cultural, and social influences on food choices and other nutrition practices
2. The student acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to manage human, economic, material, and information resources to improve the quality of life for individuals and families.
- 1. Apply various dietary guidelines in planning to meet nutrition and wellness needs
- 2. Demonstrate ability to select, store, prepare, and serve nutritious and aesthetically pleasing foods
- 3. Examine the governmental, economic, and technological influences on food choices and practices
3. The student applies the Family Consumer Science (FCS) knowledge and skills to reason and solve problems.
- 1. Design strategies that meet the health and nutrition requirements of individuals and families with special needs
- 2. Determine conditions and practices that promote safe food handling
- 3. Assess the impact of food and diet fads, food addictions, and eating disorders on wellness
4. The student applies strategies for balancing the responsibilities of home, school, and work.
- 1. Examine physical, emotional, social, psychological, and spiritual components of individual and family wellness
- 2. Identify job opportunities by listening to guest speakers in the field of food and nutrition who explain openings for professional careers
- 3. Demonstrate effective work skills individually and as a team member
- 4. Demonstrate leadership skills and abilities
- 5. Demonstrate work ethics and professionalism
