1. The student understands the meaning of what is read.
- 1.1 Reads to tell how the computer works.
- 1.2 Reads to understand the concept of word wrap.
- 1.3 Reads to learn how to spell and grammar check.
- 1.4 Understands and applies the "undo" and "repeat" commands.
- 1.5 Formats a paragraph for alignment and line spacing.
- 1.6 Demonstrates proficiency at paragraph formatting, indents, special indents, and creating lists.
- 1.7 Creates footnotes and endnotes.
- 1.8 Inserts time stamps, displays document information, and adds graphics to documents and create columns.
2. The student uses listening and observation skills to gain understanding.
- 2.1 Shows nonprinting characters
- 2.2 Demonstrates and uses effectively the pull-down menu items
- 2.3 Selects text, deletes text, formats a character for font, color, size, superscript, and subscript.
- 2.4 Formats a page for margins, headers and footers, page numbers, and tab stops.
- 2.5 Copies and pastes text, movies text, uses control key, finds and replaces text, finds a specific page, finds specific characters, and replaces text.
- 2.6 Uses the thesaurus.
3. The student will apply appropriate communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively in a variety of situations.
- 3.1 Creates and views a PowerPoint presentation.
- 3.2 Uses slide view, slide sorter view, notes pages view, and outline view.
- 3.3 Deletes a slide, adds clip art, inserts footers on slides and inserts slide transitions.
- 3.4 Prints a presentation, creates preset animation, adds a new slide, and adds charts from spreadsheets.
- 3.5 Plans a presentation integrating presentation design.
4. The student acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to determine the correct mathematical process to use for various problem situations and to use formulas when appropriate.
- 4.1 Enters data into a spread sheet.
- 4.2 Saves, views, and prints a spreadsheet.
- 4.3 Creates headers and footers, uses formulas to perform calculations, uses cell names in formulas.
- 4.4 Edits entries using functions to perform calculations, highlights and fills adjacent cells, performs relative copying, and uses the round function.
- 4.5 Formats a spreadsheet, plans a spreadsheet, and enters and displays formulas.
- 4.6 Inserts function and editing commands such as "max" and "min" functions and using the "if" function.
- 4.7 Expands a spreadsheet, forms absolute copying, applies copy, cut and paste.
- 4.8 Inserts and deletes rows and columns.
- 4.9 Prints a large spreadsheet, prints charts, modifies chart titles, selects, moves, sizes and deletes charts, adds series and labels.
- 4.10 Creates pie charts and bar line charts.
5. The student develops Database skills to create and present accurate and effective communication (oral and written) tailored to the specific purpose and needs of the audience.
- 5.1 Understands and explains what a relational database is.
- 5.2 Defines fields, designs and creates a relational database, and creates and saves a table.
- 5.3 Uses the relational database management system.
- 5.4 Prints a table, queries a table and applies complex queries.
