The student acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain an active life.
To meet this standard the student will:
- 1. Demonstrate
competency in many movement forms by
- 1.1 participating in a variety of team sports demonstrating competitive skill development.
- 1.2 participating in a variety of lifetime activities (individual and dual) demonstrating skill development.
- 1.3 participating in a variety of rhythmic activities applying knowledge of major components of a routine.
- 2. Apply rules,
sportsmanship, cooperation and safety procedures in physical activity
by
- 2.1 demonstrating knowledge of rules and applying those rules to games and activities.
- 2.2 following safety procedures and acting responsibly.
- 2.3 practicing teamwork and working cooperatively.
- 2.4 practicing good sportsmanship.
- 3. Demonstrate
the concepts of physical fitness and develop and monitor progress on
personal fitness goals by
- 3.1 applying the components of fitness when developing an individual action plan to live a healthy and active life.
- 3.2 participating in a fitness test.
- 3.3 participating in a variety of fitness activities
