Advanced Vocal Ensemble

1. The student acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to create, to perform, and to respond effectively to the arts. To meet this standard, the student will:
- 1.1 Sight read music containing: advanced syncopated rhythms and meters.
- 1.2 Sight read 4- to 8-part madrigals, motets, jazz standards, and/or cultural music.
- 1.3 Evaluate and adjust to produce an effective performance.
- 1.4 Demonstrate proper vocal production related to musical style.
2. The student applies the creative process with arts knowledge and skills to reason and solve problems. To meet this standard, the student will:
- 2.1 Use critical listening skills to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of personal and team performances.
- 2.2 Identify and explore the causes of inaccuracies in intonation, tempo and dynamics and make the necessary changes to correct the problem.
3. The student uses at least one of the art forms to communicate ideas and feelings. To meet this standard, the student will:
- 3.1 Communicate the message and/or intent of varied musical styles
4. The student understands how the arts connect to other subject areas, life, and work. To meet this standard, the student will:
- 4.1 Demonstrate a sensitive, caring, and cooperative attitude while working within a vocal ensemble
