Reading text mid to end of 2nd grade (2.5-2.9). With some guidance, I apply strategies to predict, clarify and expand word meaning, and use new vocabulary. |
Reading text at grade level. I apply strategies to predict, clarify, and expand word meaning, and use new vocabulary. |
Reading text at or above grade level. With 90% accuracy or better, I independently apply strategies to predict, clarify, and expand word meaning, and use new vocabulary. |

ITBS or STAR is below 35%. Student assessments are in text with reading levels of 2.4 or below and/or grade level test scores are 59% or below.
Approaches Expectations:
On norm referenced tests such as ITBS and STAR, general ranges for approaching expectations are between the 35-49th percentile. Student assessments are in text with reading levels between 2.5-2.9 and/or grade level test scores between 60-69%.
