Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is the most visible college entrance test in use today. (Fewer students take the ACT that can also be used for college admission.) Federal Way students continue to outperform students across the country and in Washington on both the verbal and mathematics portions of the SAT. Like the AP results, the SAT scores continue to improve while more students take the test. Unlike the ITBS and ITED test of basic skills, SAT and AP Exams measure the other end of the spectrum, the truly higher order performances required in a rigorous academic program. highlight general strengths and weaknesses and provide a general snapshot of achievement for students, schools, and the district.
