FWHS ‘Design Day’ Nets Good Thinking; will be Repeated Aug. 23

July 25th, 2012 by dstenber

Architects  working on  the preliminary design concepts for the new Federal Way High School held an open house last week, inviting the public to drop in to give input.  Representatives of the SRG Partnership brought a variety of materials to engage visitors and elicit comments.

A foam block set allowed visitors and architects the opportunity to try different configurations of a building of specific proportions on the current FWHS site.

By the end of the day, the walls were thick with comments from visitors, sharing what they loved about the school, what has to change, and what they wanted to see in a new school.

A second open house/visioning session will be held on August 23. Architects will once again bring materials and tools to facilitate the visioning process and inspire input from the Federal Way community.

The time and location will be announced once they have been confirmed.
