U.S. Apple Association Awards Sherwood Forest $4500!

Sherwood Forest has great news! Thanks to P.E. Specialist, Ryan Westhoff, our school is receiving a check for $4500 from the U.S. Apple Association for our participation in “Apples for Education: Buy an Apple, Help a Student program.”

Throughout this school year, P.E. Specialist Ryan Westhoff has worked hard with our school community in promoting/encouraging our student scholars to eat apples as snacks. He entered our school in the “Apples 4 Education” fundraising campaign. He frequently submitted photos of scholars and staff members eating apples. We have seen so many student scholars so excited to eat apples! Apples our available in our school office every Friday. Boxes of apples were purchased by previously awarded grants and were sometimes donated by families and staff members. Mr. Westhoff will now be able to purchase more apples with these newly awarded funds.

    Thank you U.S. Apple Association!

Principal's Message

  • Alisa DeSart, Principal Sherwood is a great place for children to learn and grow. Our staff, parents, and community are committed to providing a safe, caring, and challenging educational environment that promotes learning and achievement for all students. We recognize and celebrate the diverse learning styles, interests, talents, and cultures of our students and strive to offer a rich variety of meaningful learning experiences that will inspire innovative thinkers and confident learners.

Our talented teachers offer students a full academic program that encompasses kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, we have highly skilled professional educators who teach and enhance learning in the following areas: general music, physical education, library skills, counseling, instructional coaching for classroom teachers, and additional student support in reading and math.

It is our desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school. Every Thursday the Sherwood Forest “Communication Folder” goes home with all students. Students are asked to take the folder home, request a parent signature on the folder, and return it to school the next day.

Thank you for trusting us with the education and caring development of your child. If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to give your child’s teacher or me a call. Family support is a critical link to student achievement. We want to hear from you!

    Warm Regards,
    Alisa DeSart, Principal
