Welcome to Meredith Hill Elementary!
It is my distinct honor and privilege to introduce myself to you as the new principal of Meredith Hill; I am thrilled to join the Orca Family and look forward to collaborating with each of you as we work in partnership to meet the needs of our student scholars to ensure their success. I am very excited to return home to Federal Way Public Schools and to join an amazing community dedicated to ensuring that all student scholars are successful.
The 2016-2017 school year marks my seventeenth year in education, and my return to Federal Way Public Schools where I worked previously as an intermediate multiage teacher and Dean of Students at Green Gables Elementary from 2005 – 2010. For the past six years I have served in the Kent School District as a building administrator, first as the Assistant Principal of Scenic Hill Elementary and next as the Principal of Pine Tree Elementary. I believe wholeheartedly in every child’s unlimited potential and capacity for learning, and I work tirelessly with dedication and passion to ensure that every student scholar receives the high quality education that they deserve.
At Meredith Hill we take our commitment to our student scholars and their families very seriously. We are a dedicated group of professionals that strives for excellence in all that we do to provide an engaging, rigorous learning environment for all students. The talented and dedicated staff at Meredith Hill works hard to ensure a safe learning environment that provides challenges for our students to learn and grow. We believe strongly that this work starts in the strong relationships we establish with our student scholars, families, and greater community; working together in partnership, we will succeed in providing Meredith Hill’s scholars an exceptional education.
We are proud of our commitment to the development of the whole child at Meredith Hill. In addition to our high quality academic programs serving students from preschool through fifth grade, we provide student scholars with opportunities to enrich their learning experiences growing their interests and developing a lifelong love of learning. With opportunities including Steel Drums, the Salmon Club, the Green Team, Track and Field, and many more, student scholars are challenged to stay involved and take ownership of their own learning.
I cannot wait for this school year to begin! Thank you for trusting us with the care and development of your child(ren); we do not take this gift of trust lightly. Please know that my door is always open, and I love to hear from families and the community. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s teacher directly. We look forward to working with you!
